Linda Petty Although her degrees are in music & education, Linda Petty, ("By Heart" owner-artist) has been actively involved in the arts all her life - from directing music & drama to designing logos & custom home floor plans in her successful interior decorating business! However, she has been calligraphing inspirational verses (mostly from the Bible) for over 20 years as gifts for friends & family. With increased passion for it's impact & overwhelming response to spread the encouragement, Linda launched "By Heart" in September of 2006. She can be found in her h'artroom studio in Indian Trail, NC where she lives with her pastor-husband of 37 years. They raised two creative children, who married two more & are thrilled to be new members of the grandparent club!

Our Vision & Mission
We are constantly inundated with negative messages that deplete our energy, enthusiasm & emotions, wringing the joy out of life! Consequently, the mission of "By Heart" is to create & distribute unique, attractive & original, quality works of h'art of calligraphed verses that encourage, energize & inspire! Because the written WORD can empower us to make wise decisions, help build & strengthen relationships, develop personal balance & remind us of what's really important when life lets us down; our vision for "By Heart" comes from scripture: "And these words which I command you shall be upon your heart; you shall teach them diligently to your children...& you shall write them on the doorframes of your house & gates." - Deuteronomy 6:3, 6 & 9

Since it's been proven that even more benefits abound from memorizing the WORD, i.e., peace& blessing that revives & refreshes us, We at "By Heart" are committed to adding to the current line of 14 verses, (including 20 greeting cards), 6 new verses each year that promise to bring wisdom, understanding, guidance & great reward. One of the best descriptions of the WORD is that it's "more precious than gold & sweeter than honey" because it can actually change our lives!
